Your paperwork is now in process, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have you on tour with us.
With Sloan Tours, all your sightseeing visits, activities, and excursions are included in your tours. The following section will contain information about those activities and options within each if we need more information.
Additionally, there are a few options for unscheduled opportunities and add-ons to customize your trip. These personalized optional additions are available as a courtesy to enhance your experience if desired. These are not required to have an incredible tour experience.
A First-Class Experience
Get ready to ride first class on the Jacobite Steam Train. Described as one of the greatest railway journeys in the world, this 84-mile round trip takes you past a list of impressive extremes. Also known as ‘The Hogwarts Express,’ the train starts near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, it visits Britain's most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar, and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis!|
Spend the afternoon having lunch and exploring in Malligg before the return journey back to Fort William.
Falconry in Shieldaig
Embark on the exhilarating Shieldaig Experience, an immersive journey into falconry and bird handling in the Scottish Highlands. Discover the rich history of falconry and witness the power of our extraordinary collection of birds up close. From Harris Hawks to Buzzards and graceful Owls, you'll marvel as these majestic creatures take flight from treetops to your outstretched glove.
Fly alongside these magnificent birds and enjoy personal encounters with an awe-inspiring Russian Steppe Eagle. Get ready to fly headfirst into the captivating world of falconry!
A Three Hour Tour
Get ready to take a cruise to one of the most dramatic natural wonders of all the Hebrides Islands, The Isle Of Staffa. The approach to Staffa by sea is breathtaking, with great basalt columns flanking the deep caves which have inspired so much praise. Fortunate guest with good weather, get to land and explore Fingal’s Cave or Clamshell Cave where the basalt columns are intricately curved.
On the way to Staffa keep an eye out for dolphins, porpoises and minke whales which are often seen during the warmer months. And a large colony of puffins breed on Staffa every summer and are always a firm favorite with visitors who can see them congregate on the cliffs, diving into the water then return with a beakful of fish. The puffins are very tolerant of people and it’s possible to get very close to them, making for some great photo opportunities.
